Wine Festival, 27th August - 17th September

 

The Madeira Wine Festival begins on 27th August and runs for 3 weeks through to 17th September. You can get a full programme here.

From 27th-31st August, there will be various performances celebrating European Foklore Week. 

From 31st August to 17th September there'll be stalls along the Avenida Arriaga selling products from the Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts Institute. The Madeira Wine Lounge will also be open during this period on the Praça do Povo by the sea front offering a variety of opportunities to sample local food, wine and entertainment. Please note that you may have to book for some of the activities on offer.

The traditional celebration of the grape harvest takes place in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos on 9th September.
